What? A cafe too?
Trailhead Bike Cafe is a serious bike shop with a fun, comfortable atmosphere. Our cafe makes Trailhead a great place to relax and enjoy coffee and a bite to eat while letting us take care of your cycling needs. We have many groups ride to and from the shop to grab a drink or a bite to eat. We are the only shop around that has a full-service cafe inside while still offering full-functioning bicycle sales and service. Whatever your riding level, we can take care of you here at Trailhead.
When was Trailhead founded?
Trailhead was founded in 2008 by then business student Kiel Marley. Kiel got the idea to open a bike shop and a cafe while training and racing triathlons and mountain bikes. Long training days can wreak havoc on one's bike so there were many trips to local bike shops. Kiel noticed that however capable, shops rarely had comfortable accommodations and never had more that the normal selection of pre-packaged gels and bars.
The idea of building a bike shop that would fulfill both the mechanical needs of customers as well as the need for a comfortable place to hang out seemed to make perfect sense. Since then, Trailhead has built an amazing family around the community and become a staple within the neighborhood that earned the trust of those around us.
Since opening, Trailhead has found a second partner in Dr. Jeanine Cordova. Jeanine was part of the creation of Trailhead Bike Cafe from day one and in November of 2012 Kiel and Jeanine were married in a very beautiful ceremony at the Arizona Historical Society. ...and yes, bikes were involved.
We try to have as much outreach in the community as possible every year. We have, since opening, supported many charity rides, including: Bike MS, CF Cycle for life, Tour de Cure and more. We also, have our club team with registration open every summer as part of our shop jersey orders. In October of 2012 we were also proud to announce a sponsorship and support package with the Carlos Obrien's / PROCON racing team. Along with our partnership, the team and Trailhead have joined with BH and Pivot cycles to offer great support of the PROCON cycling team.
Trailhead Bike Cafe has had the honor of servicing the bike of many groups in Phoenix over the past years. One of the groups we have a lot of contact with is the Phoenix Fire and Police Departments. We have many customers that are active and retired from both lines of duty and we are always proud to have the privilege of keeping them rolling along.
